Oct 30, 2020: Patras

After the rain a couple of days ago, back to sunshine. Ira & Achileas are visiting from Athens, we went swimming today in the ocean......They are going back to Athens tomorrow.

Oct 28, 2020: Patra

 Today was the first rainy day since I arrived in Patra. 

I took the train to downtown and walked along the boardwalk.

I went back home, by train. When I got out at the Kastellokampos stop, it was raining heavily.

Yesterday I started at the downtown Train Station and ran Southwest. First through the port and then on the boardwalk. At the new Port of Patras I turned around and headed back.

Oct 18, 2020: Patra

 I took the 08.10 train this morning to Patras. To the last stop. I took my DJI cameras with me. I walked back to to the train station and walked up 12 sets of 15 stairs to the castle.

Running in Patras: Route 2

 This morning I scouted a 2 mile route from the second train stop to Downtown Patra.

Running in Patras: Route 1

 I had a calf injury and a rib/internal organ/long injury, both on the left side. It started in Flagstaff, a week before I left, it went sort of away, and came back with a vengeance in Athens. The injury in my side effected my breathing. (shallow and too fast, lack of air). So, no running for 3 weeks. My calf injury has healed and my side feels much better.
This morning I went running for the first time in 3 weeks, along the ocean. I took the train to the second stop and starting running from there.
No problem with breathing!
I ran north first for 1.5 miles, then turned around and ran for another 1.5 miles, to the third train stop. I took the train back home. 

Oct 08, 2020: Patra

 I am sleeping every night at least 8 1/2 hours, no siesta needed during the day...
On Sunday and Tuesday I went swimming in the ocean. The water temperature is perfect!
On Tuesday I got a Greek bank account with Piraeus Banking. It took 90 minutes and lots of document that I needed to bring and lots of document that I needed to sign...
In Patras center is is difficult to find household stores and grocery shops. But close to the third stop towards Patra, is a big Lidl store, several bakeries and a supermarket, also a street vendor with apples and grapes. Easier and convenient shopping. 

It rained last night and again for about an hour during the day. More clouds in the sky, so it might start again.....

Oct 03, 2020: Patras

On Oct 01 I bought  a monthly pass for the local train. Regular price 30 euro, senior discount: 15 euro. This morning I went to town: 4 stops from Kastellokampos to Patras- centre.
The red stop is where the Saturday Farmers market is.
I took the11.35 train back to the house. After unloading the groceries I took Bella, the mother dog with me on a 3km round trip walk to the bakery and supermarket in Rio.

Oct 02, 2020: Patras

 The train from Athens to Patras (from Kitaro to Patras a coach bus, very easy connection) was comfortable.
After Jetlag and noise at night in Athens, I slept 12 hours last night!
This morning breakfast, with a Promegranate from the Promegranate tree, on the terras.
