 Went running this morning.

 

It rained during my siesta at 13.00hr, but it was sunny and dry before and after.....

Went to the Farmers market today, about a 30 minutes walk uphill from the apartment.

Large ripe tomatoes....

Today was another warm day, at noon about 23 degrees Celsius. A lot of people on the walk behind the Akropolis and sitting at cafes and restaurants....

 Last night it rained, but it was dry and sunny today. Around 22 degrees Celsius.
Went running today

Took the subway to the Akropolis stop and walked behind the Akropolis

towards Monastiraki, shopped for Sheep/goat cheese, walked to Omonia Square

and from there took the subway back home.
Siesta! Later in the afternoon went for a walk to and in Aeros park.

I went to the Dutch Embassy this morning. 
Forget about getting a new passport here, it might take 2 months, would cost 160 euros and may not be ready by the time I leave.

I will do it next year in Phoenix...

The Stadium, first Olympic Games were held here.

shopping at the Agora Market

I want to get a new Dutch passport (the old one has no chip, the new one does), so I went shopping for a photo place to get new pictures. Walked 4km to find a place.
In between walked past the Akademia

After a siesta back to Septembriou street for Chinese New Year celebrations (Year of the Horse)

It rained a bit last night. Wet streets. I ran running 9km. From the apartment to Octovriou street, at Omonia square I took Venizelou to Syntagma, through the National Gardens and then behind the Akropolis to Monastiraki. From there back to the apartment.

After a siesta, walked in Aeros park.

 Yesterday visit of Lykabettou. With the metro to Evangelismos and walking to the Gondola. 
A bit expensive, 13 euro for a round trip to the top of the mountain.

It was warm today, about 19 degrees Celsius....

On the way back to Syntagma square, changing of the National Guard.

 I went running this morning. From the apartment on Mamouri to Aeros park. 3 rounds in the park and then running home. Total distance was 6.5km.

Later in the morning went to a Farmers Market: oranges, tomatoes, olive oil, onions and lemons. 

After a siesta, with the metro to the Akropolis stop and walked behind the Akropolis

(with lots of Athinians, because it was warm, at least 20 Degrees Celsius. 

From Monastiriaki, the Mitreopolis Street towards Syntagma Square

Took the metro to Syntagma Square, from there I walked to Anafiotika street in the Plaka (underneath the Akropolis), where I lived when I was 20.

From Anafiotika I walked down hill to Monastiraki and further on to Omonia Square, where I took the metro back back to the apartment.

Got up this morning with rain. Change of plan no Lykabettus or Plaka this morning, but shopping for kitchen stuff.

By the time I left the house, it got dry and pretty warm.

Stopped at the Agora market for minced meat (made while you wait for it), 

across from the Agora market are vegetable stands. I got olives, tomatos, paprika

Walked back to Omonia Square and took the red subway line to Larissa station. Walked back home. It started raining again.

After a siesta went for a walk to and in Aeros Park.

 Today the subway from Victoria Square to Piraeus, the port of Athens. Big ferry boats to the Isles.

Back to Monastiraki: shopping dinner. Eating at the apartment.....

The plan this morning was to go to Kerameikos,  the ancient cemetery of Athens and also go to the Farmers Market both on the same street.
However, Kerameikos was closed because of renovations of the visitor buidling and there was no Famers Market.

So, what do to at 0.9.30am? Go visit the Akropolis.

Afterwards shopping on Athinai street, 

and a siesta back at the apartment. (Still jet lag, after 15 hours of flying)
