Jun 10, 2015: Banff - Lake Louise - Banff
I got up real early, (could not sleep anymore)and went running at 05.00am, to the Banff Springs Hotel. It took me 17 minutes and on the way back at the river crossing bridge I saw a wolf. Some people saw some elk eating from the bushes yesterday evening on the main street, Banff Avenue. Anyway, we left for Lake Louise at 08.00am.
First stop just after the crossing from Alberta into British Columbia (BC)
In Alberta there are fences along Highway 1, but in British Columbia there are not.
and that is why we saw this across from the Highway....
The black lump in the middle was a grizzly bear. Eating flowers (for vitamins and minerals, needed after the winter sleep).
Here a picture of the Grizzly I saw a week ago.
Continuing, to Emerald Lake.
From Emerald Lake to Lake Louise Village.
to pickup sandwiches that we can eat at Lake Louise.
We were there for 1 hour. On to Lake Mouraine, with the 10 Peaks Mountain.
Back to Highway1, for a view of the Natural Bridge.
Back to Banff, we have got a 16.00pm reservation, going to the top of Sulphure Mountain.
4 person gondolas, going to the top in 10 minutes.
View of the Banff Springs Hotel and the Bow river
back down again at 17.00pm.
In the parking lot. This is the vehicle with which we go on the Columbia Icefields tomorrow.
We were at our hotel at 17.30pm.
