Apr 28, 2017: Flagstaff

While I was doing stretch exercises this morning behind my trailer, I saw in the distance some elk. Got my camera out of the trailer and walked slowly towards them.

I kept trees between me and their line of vision. Elk have good eyesight.

There were 3 of them. About 4 times a year a group of about 30 females comes around,

Apr 21, 2017: Flagstaff

High pressure above Arizona, which means a lot of sunshine and hard western wind starting after noon.
I talked to my friend Anne Marie in Victoria (Vancouver Island). She mentioned that all tours going into Canada are booked solid. JAC Travel as well ( I did tours for them in 2015). Anne marie emailed JAC Travel while we were skyping. Long story short: I agreed to do two 18 days tours in West Canada. The first one starts on Jun 27, the second Aug 22.

Apr 12, 2017: Flagstaff

I have been back in Flagstaff 2 weeks now. Being in Europe the past 5 months, I had lost all of my high altitude conditioning. I have been running every other day, the speed is not back yet, but the distance (3 miles) is there.
Very nice weather this week.....

Apr 02, 2017: Flagstaff

Last Tuesday I flew from Holland back to Arizona. It took exactly 24 hours, I walked to the train station in Haarlem at 06.10 hr, thinking that I should try to remember that when I arrived in Flagstaff. 1 train, 2 planes, 1 shuttle van and 1 taxi later I arrived at my trailer in Flagstaff.

It had snowed earlier in the day, but nothing was left when I got there.
After 5 hours of sleep woke up with sunshine. After recharging the car batteries (down to 60%) my car started up right away.
I enrolled my waterlines and hooked those up to the house. After 20 minutes my tanks where full. It also took 20 minutes to get the pilot light going of my heating system (propane tank).
Thursday it was 20 degrees celsius outside.

Friday and Saturday it snowed.

Late afternoon everything had melted away.
