Jun 11, 2019: Cataract operation

Jun 17
I went running this morning.  At 11.00 I had my 3rd check-up. Also talked with the doctor about my left eye. Yesterday it was thought that the left eye was still to good, but after some more testing (also because I am going to Greece end of September), it was decided that my left eye gets operated on Jul 23!  Good....

Jun 16
I slept without the eye patch. Today was my second check-up. The doctor said that everything looks good. No more restrictions: I am allowed to run again.

Jun 15
The discomfort is getting less day by day. My vision is stabilized now. The lens they put is for distance, I will need glasses for reading. The view from my right eye is much brighter than my left. Also blue is more blue and white is more white.

Jun 12, 13, 14
Sleeping with a protective cap during the day when the wind is blowing, I have the eye patch on to protect against dust. In the morning my vision is a bit vague, it does get better during the day. Some discomfort on the outside of my eye.

I took of the protective cup ( I have to wear it ever night until my next checkup on Jun 17), and went for a 30 minute walk. Jarring motion is not allowed yet, so no running. Also, I have to keep my head above waist level.
I kept the eye patch off. The discomfort is less, as is the stiffness and the black floaters in my eye are diminishing.

I took of the bandage and the protective  cup and I put on the eye patch.
Went for a short walk. Running is not allowed. Or weightlifting over 20 pounds...
At 12.30 I drove to the eye clinic for my checkup. The doctor said it looked good. Kept the eye patch on the rest of the day, at night the protective cup.

08.30
My operation is scheduled
Eye prepping, with lots of different eye drops, in 4 rounds.
09.30
Wheeled from the prepping area to the operating room on a hos[ital bed. Hooked up to monitors and an infuse. I am getting a low dose Propofol, not enough to put me under...
10.00-10.15
The operation itself. No pain, a little discomfort from the tugging and probing of my eye. Interesting light show happening now in my right eye.
10.45
Bandage and protective cup over my right eye.
Free to go! I drove to Fry's supermarket to get an eye patch and drove myself home.
At home I left the bandage and the cup on all evening and night.
