The monsoon is finally here: Clouds and rain in the afternoon. The temperature is very nice.
Good flying news! As of Sep 01, when flying from Holland to Greece, a negative Corona test certificate is no longer required. Hopefully this stays like that at least until the end of september, because I am flying to Greece on Sep 28....
My last eye check was Friday: both eyes are good. I got a prescription for reading glasses from the clinic.I went to an optician: 2 pairs of reading glasses for $69, I will have them he end of August.
Greece is now (until Aug 30, for now), requiring people flying in from Holland to have a negative Corona virus test with them, Printed, with passport number and doctor's signature. There is a site at the Amsterdam airport that does it. But as the document is valid only for 72 hours, timing is tricky. In Flagstaff it cannot be done, result comes back 3 to 5 days later.....
Yesterday I had an ultra sound on my left shoulder (because I could not do an MRI), I have bursitis in there. They gave me a steroid injection. Today, my shoulder has more mobility and less pain in certain movements...
I booked a one way flight on Sep 27 from Phoenix to Amsterdam . If customs or health officals at the airport do not ask questions there, I will fly 3 hours after arrival (on Sep 28) on a different flight to Athens....
I had my second eye check-up on Friday. Everything looks good, I can, for the first time ever, see with both eyes at the same time! No more restrictions, so I went running this morning. My last checkup is 2 weeks from now, I will get a reading glasses prescription then from the eye clinic.
I am planning to fly to Europe the third week of September. Because of the Corona virus info is very iffy. I called KLM airlines: "if I arrive at Amsterdam airport on Sep 28 in the morning, am I allowed to fly to Athens (already booked), the same afternoon? And if needed, do a voluntary quarantaine in Greece (Patras)." The answer from the KLM Rep was: "yes, as long as I stay in the transit area at the airport."
I will double check this with some government source, but if this is true, than this would be my best option.
