Fire near Patras city

There is a big fire in a forested area near Patras. Some houses are also threatened. When I was at the beach this afternoon, 1 Helicopter and 1 plane were doing water runs from the ocean. The helicopter extended a tube which scooped up water and the plane taxied on the water taking water in doe 11 seconds and then took off again.

Jul 28, 2021: Patras

There is a heatwave in Greece. Hot air coming in from Africa. 37 Celsius in Athens. I was in downtown Patras this morning, the air felt stale and too warm. At home there is a nice Eastern breeze keeping the temperature down somewhat. Of course I g swimming in the afternoon every day....

Jul 20, 2021: Patras

There are a couple of very large fig trees in my neighborhood. Today I came back from swimming and I found the first 4 ripe ones on one of them. I ate them all....
from now until the middle of september fresh figs!

Jul 13, 2021: Patras

 I go to the ocean (and swimming) every day now, usually between 14.00-15.00 uur. 10 min walk to the ocean, 45 min swim, drying out in the sun, 10 min back. 

It is mostly families that go where I go to. I do not have a picture of it , but it is past the parasols in the distance....

There are a couple of big trees and hedges close to where I live. Crickets are there too. The noise they make is deafening......

My daily Life

 I get up around 06.30

I water sections of the garden on:
Tuesday/Saturday: Atrium, balcony and right side flowers.
Wednesday/Sunday: Left side flowers
Sunday: Fruit trees.
It takes me between 45-60 min. 

Before I take the train at 08.10 (6 days a week) I feed the dogs
During the week I get off at the 2nd or 3rd stop, walk to the ocean and walk or run on the boardwalk (running every third day). Before taking the train back home I shop, when necessary.

Every third Sunday I run over the Rio bridge and take the free ferry back to Rio.

In the summer: when I am back, I read on the terras (in the shade), until it gets too warm. Then I walk to the ocean for a swim. When I do that, I do not need a siesta....

The rest of the day I stay home.
Around 16.00 I feed the dogs for the last time.
