Patras - Patras airport (Araxa) 

Bus 4 euros: Every Tuesday: 09.00 and 12.00 from KTel Achaia to the airport.

Every day/every hour Bus to Lapas (4 euros). 8km south of the airport. 

Take a taxi from Lapas to the airport.

Athens - Patras and Patras - Athens

The train from Athens Airport to Kato Acharnes. 

Transfer to the train for Kiato.

Mar 25, 2020: Amsterdam-Los Angeles

06.00: My brother drove me to the airport.. Check-in was easy and fast.
07:00: There were no customers at Security.
07:45: After walking through an empty terminal (all stores and food places are closed), I am now waiting at the gate (also empty). On my way.....
09.00-09.30: We are allowed to get on the plane. All 10 crew members and about 80 customers.
We had to sit in our assigned seats until after take-off.
10.00: Everybody changed seats. I got bumped up to Economy Class Comfort (more legroom) and I had 9 seats to myself.
Mar 26: 01.45 or local time Mar 25: 12.45
Arrival at Los Angeles airport. Which was totally void of passengers. Lots of staff though. The Corona virus check consisted of a forehead temperature check. Through customs, very simple, because again, no customer were there.
My friend Ingrid picked me up and we went to her house in San Pedro, where i will stay until Sunday when I leave on a night train to Flagstaff....I hope

Mar 24, 2020: Den Haag

On Sunday I flew from Athens to Amsterdam. Check-in was fast and the plane was 30% occupied. Everybody had 3 chairs. Schiphol was quiet, not empty. I took the train to the Hague where my brother picked me up.
Monday morning I looked at what my options where: To find a flight and leave earlier than my scheduled flight on Apr 20 to Phoenix. For the next 3 weeks Los Angeles was one of the few cities that I was allowed to fly into (Corona virus testing). Was the daily Chicago train which stops in Flagstaff, still running? Yes, it was...
I booked a flight with KLM for wednesday. And an Amtrak train ticket for next Sunday. (staying at a friends house in Los Angeles until then). Now I have to hope that all the Greeks Gods are willing.....
Starting October 01, 2020 I am renting this house in Greece for 2 years.........

Mar 22, 2020: Athens-Amsterdam-The Hague

From the apartment I walked to the Ambelokopi metro station amd arrived at the airport at 10.00. The airport was not empty, but not busy. Half the stores were closed. Waiting for my flight now to Holland.....

Mar 19, 2020: Athens

The risk of Greece or Holland going into lockdown is getting greater. I changed my flight going back to Holland from March 28 to Sunday, March 22. Hopefully public transport will still run.

Food stores are open, also the Agora meat market. There you can pay using cash, in the AB supermarket chain only by credit or debit card.
Flights, buses and metro still running....

Mar 15, 2020: Athens

Well, the Corona virus....
Here in Athens more closures and restriction.
Public transport still working. I am watching my flight on March 28 to Holland. I can change it for free to another date, which I might do, and then my April USA flight with Condor. The next 30 days US citizens and permanent residents are allowed to land at a few locations. Los Angeles, yes. Phoenix, NO. My flight goes to Phoenix....

Mar 10, 2020: Patra visit

Thursday I went to Patras and stayed at the country house with Alexis and his grandmother. And four big guard dogs.....
The next 3 days I took one of the dogs on an early morning walk. On Monday Aexis and I took the local train to Patras center. We had a meeting planned with the accountant to talk about how we best good do it, the apartment rental. I think we figured it out, now it is a matter of creating a legally accurate agreement.
The bus back to Athens was sold out until 13.30, which I took. At 16.15 the bus was at the Athens bus terminal. 10 minutes later I got on Bus 51 and got off at the Metaxourgio metro stop. A short ride to Omonia and another metro to Victoria. From Victoria I walked home. I was back at the apartment at 17.30.

Mar 03, 2020: Athens

Spring is in the air in Athens, also bushes and trees flowering. The past 5 years I left Athens the end of February, now I am leaving the end of March.
But first to Patras: leaving thrusday coming back Sunday or Monday. Alexis and I are going to talk with his accountant and also the Tax Office (to get a tax number).
